The Cogglepotts Family Legacy
Where Imagination Begins, and Wonder Is Passed from One Generation to the Next
Long before Professor Thaddeus Cogglepotts became the famed inventor, storyteller, and Curator of the Curiousitorium in the bustling city of Whimbrassel, the spark of imagination in the Cogglepotts family began in a much quieter place.
In a tiny countryside village known only to those who wander far enough to hear birds singing in perfect harmony, lies the hidden village of Nogglepotts. And in this small, peaceful corner of Gearinthia lived a very small man with a very large heart:
Quilliam Cogglepotts
Quilliam was simply known as Coggle, and was a gentle, cheerful toymaker — a professor in his own right, though not of grand machines, chronogears, or time-bending devices. He was the Professor of Play, master of miniature marvels, and beloved creator of joy for children across the countryside.
While his son Thaddeus would one day craft inventions capable of bending Aether and reshaping time, Coggle’s gifts were smaller, softer, and filled with pure childhood wonder.
His workshop in Nogglepotts overflowed with delightful creations like the; The Ploggle, The Troggle, and The Froggle, along with many other fun toys.
He crafted each toy by hand, shaping them not from metal first — but from kindness, where every gear, and every whimsical flourish came from his heart.
Coggle believed that invention wasn’t just for solving problems…but for spreading joy.
And each winter, when snow blanketed the hills, Coggle and his brilliantly witty wife, Belladina Cogglepotts, loaded their wooden cart — the Tinsel Trundle — with toys. They traveled through nearby villages, knocking on doors and leaving small bundles of delight for children who might otherwise have none.
Belladina, with her sharp humor, sparkling charm, and warm storytelling voice, embroidered tiny vests for Ploggles, painted smiles on Troggles, and brewed honey-steam tea to keep her little husband working merrily through the night. Together, they brought laughter and wonder to countless homes.
It was in this house of joy that their son, Thaddeus Cogglepotts, first learned what imagination truly meant.
As a boy, Thaddeus wandered his father’s workshop, tinkering with tiny gears, sketching strange machines, learning to see possibility in every scrap of metal, and discovering that even the smallest creation can change a child’s day.
Coggle taught him the Golden Rule of the Cogglepotts Family:
“Invention begins not with metal… but with wonder.”
Though Thaddeus grew into a grand inventor, traveling the world, mastering the Aether arts, and eventually founding the great Curiositorium in Whimbrassel, he never once forgot where it all began.
Every gear he turns, every contraption he builds, and every story he shares carries the quiet heartbeat of Nogglepotts…and the loving legacy of a small toymaker with an enormous imagination.
This is the Cogglepotts Family Legacy — a lineage shaped not by power or prestige, but by joy, creativity, kindness, and the belief that imagination can change the world.
